Why This Workshop?
Estate planning often stays on the to-do list because it feels complicated, overwhelming, or simply uncomfortable to begin.
Our goal is to make the process approachable through practical education, guided preparation, and the support of trusted local professionals.
Over the course of three sessions, you'll organize important information, think through key decisions, prepare for meeting with an attorney, and take meaningful steps toward protecting the people you love.
Each household will receive a thoughtfully designed estate planning workbook, a canvas document bag, practical resources, refreshments, and plenty of encouragement along the way.
We'd be honored to help you take the first step.
What You'll Learn
-
Personal Experience
Sometimes the greatest motivation comes from hearing a real story.
Our special guest will share how the unexpected loss of loved ones without an estate plan affected her family, offering a heartfelt perspective on why planning ahead is one of the greatest gifts we can give the people we love. You'll leave with a clear understanding of what to gather and begin preparing before the next class.
-

A Celebration of Preparation
You've done the work—now it's time to celebrate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to already have a will?
No. This workshop is designed for those who are just getting started as well as those who already have estate planning documents and want to review or update them.
Should my spouse come?
We strongly encourage spouses to attend together whenever possible. Estate planning involves important decisions that are best made as a team, and you'll both benefit from hearing the same information and completing the preparation together.
What if I miss a class?
Because each session builds on the previous one, we encourage participants to attend all three workshops. If you're unable to attend a session, we'll do our best to provide the workbook materials and let you know what was covered.
Is this legal advice?
No. This workshop is designed to provide general education and practical guidance to help you understand the estate planning process. While our workshop is led by a licensed estate planning attorney who will share professional insight and answer general questions, it does not create an attorney-client relationship or replace individualized legal advice. Families with unique circumstances may benefit from scheduling a private consultation.
What should I bring?
Just yourself and a willingness to learn! We'll provide your workbook, curated estate planning resource kit, note-taking supplies, and other workshop materials. Between sessions, you'll complete simple homework to help organize your family's information.
Will my will be complete after these three classes?
Our goal is that you'll leave this workshop with a completed estate plan—or be well on your way to finishing one.
The workshop is designed to help you understand the process, organize your information, prepare for your attorney appointment, and stay accountable through completion. After attending the first two sessions, you'll meet individually with the attorney to receive legal advice tailored to your family's unique circumstances. Our final gathering celebrates your progress and helps you confidently put your plan into action.
What is the third class?
Our final gathering is a celebration of progress and completion.
Between the second and third sessions, you'll meet individually with the attorney to receive legal advice specific to your family's needs and complete your estate planning documents.
At our final class, we'll celebrate what you've accomplished, share encouragement, answer any remaining non-legal questions, and discuss practical next steps for safely storing your documents, keeping your plan updated, and ensuring your loved ones know where to find important information when it matters most.
